The Lost Girl

I knew a girl once
The sweetest of her kind
She knew what she was
What she would be...
Strong and compassionate
She took on any challenge
Smiling through her sorrows
She was unbreakable...
Trustworthy and reliable
She never broke her promise
Held her word until her last breath...
A great endeavor she endured
Losing hope and will to fight
Something no one thought capable
Because she was so strong...
Now she is lost
Somewhere far away
You might here me screaming
As I call out her name...
Where have you gone, little one?
Don’t give up on me now
You have so much to offer
So much worth living for...
But it’s far past too late
She is gone and gone forever
Perhaps you will cross her grave
In the small brown house where she lies....
