The First

Your eyes hold mine
With a comforting stare
As the sky opens up
To the light of the moon
And the stars, one by one
Come out to greet us
On this warm summer night.

I, in my navy blue hoody,
And black yoga pants,
Lead you towards my destination.
The street that will hold memories
Some of my favorite,
Sweetest memories.

You wrapped your arms
Tight around my waist
Attempting to shelter me
From the bitter sweet breeze
Surrounding us.

We laid down
Facing one another
And on this night,
In this exact moment,
I knew you were mine to keep.
You were the one
That would take away the bad
And make my life good,
Fulfilled, happy.

We danced slowly
On the prairie grasses,
Tripping over holes
As the moon and the stars
Sung a sweet melody.

I kissed you,
Soft and sweet,
Leaving that lingering feeling
Making you want more,
Making you kiss me back.

You left
With my scent on your sweater
The ghost of my lips on yours
The warmth of me on your chest
And a smile on your face.

I went back inside
With a smile on my face,
Immediately missing
The feeling of your embrace
Your warmth pressed to me.
And I wanted more.
I wanted to be with you every night.

And the feeling remains
As I lay on the roof
By the light of the moon
As the stars come out to greet me
On this cold spring night.
