Patient is the broken heart,
like a snake underfoot.
It lurks in darkness, out of sight
waiting for a moment to strike.
Calm is the naïve mind,
when convinced of the lack of danger.
Turmoil overthrows and takes control
when the pain is given attention.
Patient is the broken heart,
it refused to listen to the wisdom of the mind.
The mind, it knows.
It knows that to love is to die.
