The Hunter

The roses diminish in the flames
The fire whispers his sweet name
As the heaves release soft rain
I never know what to expect
Not really sure how to accept
Yet never guessing the effect
The fire had consumed my soul
My mind furthermore a black hole
And my heart something he stole
My face resembles a closed book
To guess my thoughts takes more than a look
He had my heart, he head me hooked
Telling me things I wanted to hear
Making it seem I had nothing to fear
Not letting me know he would disappear
He promised I wasn’t a hit and run
But I had no clue we were done
I did not know what I’d begun
I thought it was just any day
But he planned the words to say
A hunter finding its prey
