Another Nightmare...
I feel a sullen breathing on the back of my neck
I turn and face my attacker feeling strong and confident
Until I see his face...
No, not you, not you again...
You associate with my worst nightmares and now your back
Back to hurt me once more.
Will you ever go away?
I immediately fall back and start to slide myself away
Maybe if I run I can escape him...
I jump to my feet and bolt straight towards him
Ducking under his right swing while keeping steady pace
I am strong but I’m terrified...
Panting in the cold nights air as I run past the street lights
Hearing his thumping steps behind mine I run faster
But I’m just not fast enough...
His cold hand wraps around my arm and yanks me backwards
Pressing my body to his where he strangles me against him
Crushing the wheezing breath from my lungs
As he drags me back to the dungeon I’ve come
The dungeon that has created my nightmares
The dungeon that had broken my soul..
