Frozen Paradise

As the wind whispers a hypothermic lullaby
I lay on the solid ground
And observe the beauty of my frozen paradise.
The icicles that fall from the branches of dull trees
No leaves to portray their beauty, only barren branches.
I look around me and see a lifeless scene.

As all of the living stow away in their warm shelters
I lay on the solid ground
And observe the beauty of my frozen paradise.
The gray clouds hanging low to the ground
Tempting me to climb into them and float away
As the light creeps over the mountain side.

As the white snow drifts quietly to the bottom of the valley
I lay on the solid ground
And observe the beauty of my frozen paradise.
The bitter cold nipping at my skin,
I stare at the shadows hidden amongst the tree line.
Watching them come closer, as I drift into an eternal... frozen... paradise.
