Changing with the Wind

I see the change that has become.
The sorrow we have brought upon ourselves.
You used to write about love and happiness.
Curiosities of your heart and mind.
And I of stories untold.
Steaming feelings and thoughts of growing into a new.
Now all we right is of sorrow
Fearing what is to come with the sun.
When will we be what we were?
Beautiful, successful and pure.
We were once amazing people,
And now look at what we’ve become.
I’m a monster awaiting release.
A release I’m not ready for.
While you sink in a pit of your own sorrow.
A pit you created yourself.
Drowning with every step you take.
I used to be the person people came to
When they needed help or advice.
I was the one that helped depressed people
But expression has hooked me like a fish.
I know you were the same,
Everyone trusted you with their stories.
Do you not miss that trust?
I was the biggest athlete out there.
My main focuses were sports and school.
Now all I focus on is you...
I am not saying we must separate.
But my love, it is time to change our fate.
We are not Romeo and Juliet
Though our parents don’t get along.
We are teenagers who mess things up.
You have settled on a path for failure.
Is that what you think you are, a failure?
Don’t you know how much you are worth?
“For I know the plans I have for you
—Declares the Lord,—
'Plans for welfare and not for evil,
To give you a future and a hope.”
