To tmy mother and the one who broke my heart first.

Thank you.
For the knives you ran through my heart
For your unfaithfulness
For your lies
For your bad life choices
For making me think you loved me
For breaking me down all those years ago.
 
If it wasn’t for you coming into my life
Dragging me through hell
Devouring my love and light
I never would have been able to handle
My mother’s abusive hands on my neck
Or her incessant drug addiction
Her lies
Her abandonment
Her attempt to use me as payment for her fix
My father’s ignorance when she blamed me
His inability to love me more than her
His turned head because he couldn’t handle the truth
My brothers suicide attempt
Or his cries in the middle of the night
Begging for a better world to live in
Moving out at 16
Fighting for a better life
Working 3 jobs and graduating high school
Shoving my foot in the door to go to college
Meeting someone I have spent 4 years trying to understand
My baby’s death on my chest
My own suicide attempts.
 
You gave me strength by forcing me to be strong. You taught me to forgive when I am wronged. Thank you.
