Here, Here…To Ms. Angelou!

How could we forget you Ms. Maya Angelou?
You were a phenomenal woman who lived phenomenally;

You told us of all kinds of things, through your lovely way of expression,
You knew “Why the caged bird sings” while “Passing Time”.

Your tales so personal and truthful, the struggles you bared.
You were never angry at all, just wrote your heart upon the wall.

You told us of “A Brave and Startling Truth “of “Awakening in New York”.
Wrote of the “Momma Welfare Roll” and how “Still I Rise”. You’ve gone on now,

Into the realm of Poet’s. With Dunbar, and Wheatley, and many others,
Who’ve shared their points of view.

[I] will read your poetry every day, just to keep you near and dear;
I know that others you have inspired will do the same and keep you deeper still.

A woman who walked with King, wrote poems of woe, of peace, and love and, of tragedy.
Your contributions are limitless, there’s no end to the parade.

You may be gone body and soul, but those wonderful words remain.
Thanks for sharing your life, your love, and you’re rife,

In which we all have shared. Hats off to you Ms. Angelou,
Here in my heart your light shines true…
                                                                                       The struggle continues!
