Lord, I want to be more like you
This is a poem of me talking to God telling him that I want to be like him.
Lord, as I sit here I am thinking about you!
Thinking about the things that I know to be true!
Lord, I need you more right now than I have ever!
I want to go with you to your house and dwell forever!
Lord, I want to walk like you, I want to talk like you!
I want to be happy, glad. and omniscent like you!
Lord, I want you to show me exactly what to do,
So I can walk, talk, and be a little more like you!
Lord, I want you to show me exactly what way to go,
Show me the right thing in you, show me everything you know.
Lord, I want you to take my voice and use it the way that you see fit,
And I will not reject it not even a little bit.
Lord, from this day forward I give myself to you,
And you can use my statement against me. This is what I will do.
Lord, I want you to show me, Lord, show me the way.
Show me what to do to everyone, show me what to say!
Lord, I am asking you to please help me.
I need you right now, I need you to set me free.
In your word, you said you would never leave or forsake me.
So since your always here, I am willing to let you fix, and shape me.
Right now with you on my side I am ready to let go,
Of all the negativity, past, and all of the strong holds!
Lord, I know you hear me talking to you!
And now its time for me to say, that I will be happy, not blue
Lord I want you to know that I really love you!
And I am ready to do what you, God Almighty, wants me to do!
