Windows
This poem was inspired by the song "Clarity" by Zedd
Peering in through the old apartment windows searching for something that is no longer there.
You’ve left in a haze of feelings that chokes me.
Diving off the balcony, rushing relief sweeps through my hair.
To fall forever is my newest plea.
I wish that I didn’t need this heart.
Please, take it and let me restart
Landing in the caress of a wind blown curtain and you are here.
Tears hitting the ground sounds like drums screaming in my ear.
Your love is my verity.
I hear you singing as I grow near.
“If our loves insanity, why are you my clarity?”
Your voice is the sound of my prayer.
Falling in to you, then breaking free.
Back out the other window, blinded by the suns glare.
The past is coming back to life, flooding, my mind is the sea.
I see you above me starting to fall apart.
You are the queen carte
A full deck of cards falling with me, creating a weir.
I am growing sere.
We are hitting a point of Parity.
I keep falling away from you through windows in a tier.
“If our loves insanity, why are you my clarity?”
An ocean of curtains catch me like a Snare.
A look in your eyes is all I need, our eyes must lock to make the key.
My lungs empty of all their air.
I am a man on my knee
Words escape me before my brain can even start.
Your beauty knows nothing of this world, colors not found in any form of art.
The path I am on begins to veer.
Faces begin to look at our withered pane and sneer.
Love like this is a rarity.
Even with no words left to say, I manage to jeer.
“If our loves insanity, why are you my clarity?”
Falling faster the air does blare.
Evading any windows, this love must flee.
You have locked me in your stare.
If I continue to fall, soon I will cease to be.
Accepting the loss, never was smart.
It seems we are works of harte
Must my heart be the victim of my minds smear.
Hearts are windows, clear.
Don’t ask for charity.
Take this in Lear
“If our loves insanity, why are you my clarity?”
Finally I see it, your dark eyes and skin so fair.
She doesn’t deserve this, does she?
Love from another leaves me mare.
Never will I let her go again, this I 'cree.
Her lips are so sweet, removing the tart.
Eyes that hit me, a piercing dart.
I am through the last window, it ends with a tear.
The end of our love is my peer.
Parity to disparity.
My heart is the window, sheer.

I never felt your words were truly sincere.
Seeing you with another, such cheer.
It all ended with such severity.
We were one in the same, hearts that cohere.
