All Alone.

Dear Father,
I do not know why you have to go
the war has already caused so much pain and loss. Don’t let it take you too.
Father I love you and you know that and I will support you with your choice,
but why did you have to go to war?

Elizabeth dear,
Yes you are correct, I love you.
My King and Country need me,
your Mother knows this and you do now too.
I did not want to go but, my King needs us.
I need me to go.

Dear Father,
I wish this would be over soon, Mother needs you, she is ill and close to death.
Maybe you could run away and come home?
Mother needs you, she has everyone else but you!

Elizabeth,
You know I can’t do that, I will be killed and then she will have me back.
I have seen your uncle Phillip and he is looking as well as anyone could,
in this war.

Dear Father,
Mother has passed and she wanted me to tell you she loved you.
We burred her near the church bell tower, she all was loved it there,
It was her favourite spot, she visited it more  when the war broke out said,
“it was the most peaceful and untouched place and farthest away from the war as she could get.
She loved you, you know but loved you even more for fighting in this war.

Dairy,
Father was shot yesterday, they sent me back the last letter I wrote him,
he never got to read mothers last words for him but I guess it is good,
that he died without knowing mother did.
He gets to die thinking his wife is alive.
I’m all alone,
with a mother who died ill,
and a father who died honourably.
