I have this friend,
he thinks he is the bee’s knees.
He is strongest that is what he thinks,
he is one of my best male friends.
I confide in him tell him things,
things I would only tell people I knew
could handle knowing.
I told him I self harm,
and it was a mistake.
He started an argument
by voicing his opinion
in front of me and my other friend
who harms herself as well.
He said it was for the weak
and when something bad happens
to normal people they don’t,
self harm, they may harm their walls
or cry, or yell into their pillow.
BUT NOT SELF HARM.
But to me self harming
shows how strong I am.
I could have killed myself,
ten times over.
Yet I am still here
holding on.
People who self harm
are some of the strongest people
I KNOW.

Nice.Is it to personal to ask what drives you to do this?

Cory Garcia
over 6 years

nicely donesometimes i watch
and
wonder about
how perfectly flawed WE are
born
with a desire
for more than ourselves
a friend
a lover
a soulmate
always something
outside of ourselves
i wonder
and
watch
as i observe
the people
seeking understanding
while running around
blindly
harming themselves
in many a fasion
perhaps
the wrong friends
most likely
the wrong lovers
and
when in a jam
substituting with
eating
drinking
and
smoking
in a failed attempt
to be merry
too much of themselves
spent
for the briefest bliss
all manners
commemorating
that they feel less
than what they are
desiring they are
for shared
commiserating
while truly needing
communicators
of the spirit
and
soul
i watch as they sing
their dirges
while WE blindly try to cut
the ties
that bind us
all together in the dark
bumping into each other
and
the days that we have left
