Marionette

Lay myself onto the floor,
Absorbed in my own space.
Taken hostage in my core,
To muse within this place.
Wires running down my spine,
Flowers at the peak.
In and out they intertwine,
Pushing me to speak.
Knotting up inside my head,
North, east, west and south.
Attaching to the words I’ve said,
And coming out my mouth.
Sensors on my fingertips,
Pulses in my brain,
Hesitation on my lips,
Driving me insane.
Static in my hands and feet,
Willing me to move.
Beginning to accept defeat,,
With nothing I can prove.
Deception thrives in what it does,
My world within a curse,
And though my own I never was,
I’m playing with the universe.
