Christmas Hearts

Marcy

Candy canes and twinkling lights,
A star that tops our tree,
Christmas gifts with bright red bows,
Giving that all can see,
Santa Clause in a bright red suit,
Who fills our wishes for free.

Memories of holidays past,
Children’s excited glee,
Just to have the yearly chance,
To sit on Santa’s knee,
As proud parents look and laugh,
At a memory that will be.

Toys and stockings hung with care,
A repeating memory every year,
A person seen for the holidays,
That brings a joyful tear,
With Christmas carolers in the night,
With their carols for us to hear.

Anticipation continues to build,
As children think of their gifts,
With snow falling to the ground,
Which the heavens seem to sift,
Thoughts of familiar holiday shows,
That give our spirits lift.

The holiday season holds family close,
With love held in the heart,
But just as families carry on,
Love lives though lived apart,
While thew holidays clearly remind us,
Love gives life from it’s very start.
