That crazy driver in front of you

Traffic
Irritation becomes a nightmare
As the lines start to squiggle
Bending in and out
And the world starts its attack
Cars and roads and bridges and signs
All coming at me
The colors start to swirl
I begin to sweat
Jerky lane changes
Abrupt gas and break
If it’s unethical to text
It’s wrong to check your sugar
But it’s also 'wrong’
To drive when your sugar’s low
How are we supposed
to go anywhere?
I breathe a sigh
When I make it home

(2014)

Low blood sugar. You never know what the crazy stupid woman driver in front of you is going through!
