(2014)
If I could paint a man Eyes so dark they shine Brooding and stormy Til the smile breaks through If I could paint a man
Does the world need Another book? Another poem? I add one more to the pile To be left alone
He says I could never Get away with murder For I leave Pieces of me everywhere
My poems are short Written at night In my head I wake at dawn Shake my memory
The whole world Aches and groans Do you feel her pain? The human in me Wants to heal mankind
You might know her As blonde eyes Or as the sister who bakes cookies But you see I don’t write this
Ask any female Love Is in the details I love you Three greatest words
An idea In my head Falls flat On paper Read it
Does it hurt? When you prick your finger No I do this just for fun Our fingers lose feeling
Antes lograba tanto Metía horas Sacando lo máximo De cada minuto No he cambiado
Didn’t they know that people cared? That they were loved? Why didn’t someone tell them?
A conversation With a true friend Leaves your life richer Maybe with a laugh A smile on your face
My parents always say We’re proud of you I am too I got out of bed I used to get so much done
Water Beach pools and fountains Rivers creeks and waterfalls The sound The feel Floating Weightless
I am sorry That I cannot be happier I know that I’d be prettier If I smiled If I could smile
