A beautiful world view
Whilst there was none to share it with,
Was still mine.
And thus I did cherish it as mine forever.
The light of day that once belonged to tomorrow,
Was mine.
It shone through the nature of my beginning,
And I was glad.
This was where I saw it.
I saw a white dove,
Sat perfectly across from my eyes,
Took flight,
Away from a gathering pack of blackbirds,
Standing out, leaving all behind…
And I knew where I stood.
I knew where I stood
As I watched it take its leave,
Alabaster harbinger of an unknown faith,
Whereupon I realised I knew where it would lead me:
To my tomorrow,
And all our tomorrows,
From here ever onward.
