Water

Water

I was born in a spring
On the side of the mountain
I bubbled and gurgled
Bringing light to a fountain
I continued my flow
Crawling over hills
Finding my careful easy way
With every stream that fills
As I grew and got bigger
Stronger all the while
I roared over rocks
Until the edges were filed
Then I continued my journey
Maturing as I spread
Until I met the ocean
But I am never dead
See now I’m the ocean
This is my stage
Sometimes I’m calm
Sometimes I rage
My depths that are hidden
I’m the giver of all
My children are clouds
Watch their rain as it falls
Don’t use me then abuse me
Am I asking to much?
All that I ask
Is respect what you touch

Without me
Where would you be?
I am the river
I am the sea
Without me
Life would cease to exist
For I am the clouds
And I am the mist
