silver hair
there once was a lady with silver hair
lay in her bed with her family there
a glint in her eye and a smile on her face
she had lead a great life at such a fast pace
as a young girl she danced she had fun
a wonderful life very rarely glum
a beautiful lady still in old age
she was reliving her life looking back on each page
to share happy times she had friends who cared
a wonderful man for fifty years by her side he’d been there
as her family held tight to her hand by her bed
she opened her eyes and in a wisper she said
to all that shared my journey i thank you so
but God is gently telling me its my time to go
as she closed her eyes she saw a heavenly light
she had done so much put up such a fight
but her body was tired it was for the best
as her family watched on she took her last breath
