From the Crows Nest

Arr

Three serpents writhing in the sea
First maw, then tail rising against
The waves, their movements had dispensed
Means for the creatures’ eager glee.
Afar, they looked to us but one
Monstrous leviathan, but then
A face? Aye, there it be again!
Both to and fro they leaped and spun.
No storm or cloud, but listen all,
Hark to the bulwark’s side and see
We’ve come afloat! Those devils be
Thrashing enough to cause a squall,
Yet na’er in my long days from land
Have I looked upon such sights as this:
A serpents tail, a dragons hiss,
The din of gods so close as hand.
