Someone

Someone held our hand
When we walked across
The street.

Someone swung us through the air
Holding tight with
Flailing feet.

Someone kept us safe in
A santuary we called
Home.

Someone constantly reminded us
That we are not
Alone.

Someone claimed to love us
Through thick
And the thin.

Someone nursed the wounds
On the surfaces
And the in.

Someone eased our mind,
With stories and fairy tales
And such.

Someone tried to erase our nightmares
But it didn’t help
Very much.
