No longer young

This soul is so old
Cracked, bruised, tattered, and aching
To my spirits avail I have an appealing face
A beauty that cannot be imitated or categorized
One that is unique
Defines me; a look that earned your love

What will you have of me when that look fades with age
When my freckled skin is filled with lines
My strong caring hands are writhered with time
My straight steady stance becomes slumped and weak
Will you still love me when my body is no longer young and beautiful

When nothing of appeal is left of me except my aching soul?
Of course you will; you see me from the inside out
By the end of this journey my soul may be tired… but never worn out
With every breath taken that soul of mine matures
Transforming into a more magnificent being
Mimicking it’s mate

When my shell is old and no longer is named attractive
By societies perspective
I will always have you there to refresh my memory
That as our bodies dull; our souls shine through
Even when we are no longer young we will be beautiful
Just as our Goddess intended
