So Blue

If I told you I died would you believe me
So very blue it was purple
My heart never stopped its insistent beating
But during each beating a piece of me slipped away
The sting of the belt numbed from the lack of soul
One can only be forcibly penetrated
So many times before the heart loses its rhythm
So very blue it was nearly purple
Games played with words that bite
Taking an already bruised mind
And thrashing it till your heart’s content
Rips out the being creating a bottomless robot
I beeped and bopped as instructed
So very blue it was nearly purple
Me, whoever that was had been shoved into a box
Scarred into silence and submission
Surviving not living
Life so colorless a dog had seen better
So blue I was nearly purple
Now I am safe for the first time, but who is this I
I can tell you who I want it to be
But who I would have been has departed long ago
If I told you I died would you believe me

still rough, needs revision
