Tomorrows Shower

I’ve drowned in my shower
Burdened by the day, escaping to the steam for release
The water has grown laden with every drop
Causing a once pair of sturdy legs to wilt
Shriveling beneath me, bringing me down ever more
The floor is cold, my shriveled hands rake the rest of me inward
While my mind implores me to get back up
Experience has shown me every time I rise
I will be sent to my knees in turn
Today mimics Yesterday, and Tomorrow scoffs
All the while I sit in my tub
Demons wear thinner with the fading steam
Scalded thoughts cooled alongside my flesh as it uncurls
Nothing has been washed away, but for today it is kept at bay
My legs consent and with defeat I rise
