Wild desire

The succulent green grass yearns to be eaten
by the deer in the forest. It lives for itself to
grow to its potential. It doesn’t feel remorse
for expanding its life to help another.

The gazelle watches the horizon for lions in
the shade of trees. It knows the life it has
needs to be protected. Yet it acquiesces to jaws
of danger the blood of its flesh. It wants to know
what the inside of a lion is like.

Your mind wants the praise of individual accomplishment.
The spirit has its own life. Its arms reach out to embrace
new reflections of itself.  Each face you seek is the
one you already own.
