Fairytale

This life and time, this life and time,
Y can’t it be a fairy tale, divine.

With no broken hearts, magic and potions,
A handsome prince with utter devotion.

Talking animals and diamond rings,
Good beats evil, and everyone sings.

Wish on a star, your wish is granted,
Adventure and riches above beans that are planted.

Dragons and castles and evil schemes, fall short and the  heroes achieve their dreams.

Instead we see struggles, and tears, and strife, in this not so fairy tale life.

No animals talk, no diamond rings, no magic, no dragons, no mystical things.

This world is straight forward, and harsh, and rough,
It makes people mean, corse, and tough.

But through all this hardening, there comes a bright light,
Our children of this world,
So innocent and bright.

So we tell them of castles, chivalry, and danger,
That the world is what they make it, if they speak love and not anger.

That if they are empathetic, compassionate, true
That fairy tales can be real,
If they are kind, through and through.

Teach love not hate, and greatness will follow,
It gives us a better chance,
Of a fairytale tomorrow.

This life and time, this life and time,
Make it a fairytale, truly divine.
