Strangers

You’re nothing but a stranger
A ghost of the past
Haunting me with your existence
I never succumbed to your will
I always fought
With resistance
I wish I didn’t waste my words
That I didn’t waste my breath
And every time I think of you
I die a thousand deaths
Eating away at my insides
Like some foreign entity
It’s a fight I can’t win
Gripped in totality
