Ruminations- ruination- ruined nation- loss

Stand back, look forward, blink and it’s gone
18 years, how many tears? Show them that you’re strong
Closed eyes, clenched fists; join the chorus, hear the song
Chant the anthem, sing the hymn– God I miss the sun

Black night, full moon, I feared them both the same
I was scared of werewolves, tall men and that black dog called shame
I cared what they thought, what they said and who they fought
Noughts and crosses, X’s and O’s, what I should and what I ought
Then one day it came to me, or should I say one night
I slept, I changed, I dreamed, I flew– I saw the sun in flight
I dreamed of red, of blue, of pink, but black still blurred my sight

Paper cuts and laser cuts, something wrong? I’ll fix you
But when it’s a planet that’s cut, thats broken, thats torn, does it get fixed too?

End each other, end us all– it’s all part of the plan
But who’s to say we wont continue to fight, when we get to the great white land?
War and Peace are overrated, everyone just chill right out
Grab a drink, grab a beanbag and try to talk it out
FLy together, not in a plane
but grow wings out of your shoulders
Force the night away, greet the sun
it’s your friend– your oldest
