Paradise
Written for 1st boyfriend
The sun shines on my face. The winds rush through my hair.
My heart is skipping out of place. My mind is racing somewhere
That has no one but you and the air that you breathe.
The only place for two, the other, being me.
I picture us together, under sweet intoxication.
Side by side forever, I’m loving this sensation.
As my skin absorbs the heat and I get lost in paradise,
My heart begins to skip a beat and I hear his voice entice
Me to come closer to his presence
And to feel his warm embrace.
I go to him in seconds
And look upon his face.
The shimmer of his eyes, the softness of his skin..
Words can simply not describe the way I care for him.
He puts his hands in mine, tells me never to let go.
I wish that I could freeze the time in this moment alone.
But then it’s time for separation and I begin to cry.
How it’s difficult to stay patient while this time passes by.
I walk away in heartache, but then I turn around.
One more look, I must take before I leave what I’ve found.
I lay awake in bed at night and think of his perfection.
Try so hard, with all my might to look over this neglection.
I close my eyes and dream of all the future has to hold.
My eyes begin to gleam as I listen to what I’m told.
I wake up with a smile because I’ve been encouraged.
I tell him to just wait a while; we won’t always be discouraged.
He smiles and whispers softly that he will wait forever,
As long as in the end, we will still be together.
A tiny grin breaks my lips as I reply, “Of course we will.”
And then he seals it with a kiss and my soul has been fulfilled.
My daydream is now over...
I feel so full of joy
As I sit in fields of clover
Thinking only of my boy.
No love can compare to what I feel these days.
While the winds rush through my hair and the sun shines on my face.
