Exhaustion

To ....

Bang, boom, cry
Alarms that keep awake at night
Every vibration carrying to sound of a distant disturbance
The race, the drive, the long haul
We fight for the precious moments of peace
to settle on our weary bones.

Clank, smash, crack
Wailing through the echoes of the day starving us of blissful darkness
All the waves growing and increasing into insanity
The toss, the turn, oh the Agony
We struggle to surrender into a deathlike trance
Slowly we attempt full submersion into rest
to settle our aching souls

Rip, smack, zoom
The ringing of the clock forcing us from the moments of inexistance
Any rejuvenation swept out from our dusted eyes
The movement, the light, the sigh
We wrestle with acceptance that rest will never pass
We break the seal of our eyes and start anew
With this rude dawn.
