Expression

To those who hide

It’s always the Braves whom you see standing just still and hushed as they can
And it’s the rumble of a distant pain that the wind carries echoes of through the hazel abyss
Though no one sees into the mind of a young and depressed youth, they assume they know
I really wish that they did know
Maybe they could explain
How I’m supposed to handle this seemingly inexhaustible pain
How does one handle the loss of so much with no sense of relief or rebellion on the horizon
Are we just supposed to sit and be society’s China dolls?
When did image start to matter over happiness or even matter at all
Why do girls feel the need for constant attachment when we feel the void grow
Why are we expected to keep our emotions from the show?
When will my tears finally be heard
When will the world unlock the cage that binds our words with a needle and thread?
Sewing our lips shut with a smile to spare this unfeeling nature
No this numb generation
When will we rebel so that our voices will soar through this dead of night into our future horizons
When did we get too scared to show our true forms
Only to hide behind societal norms?
When did we learn we can’t express the excess?
