Those Thunderous Gods

Inspired by https://www.poeticous.com/robert-lee-martin/damn-those-poetic-gods

Those thunderous Gods
whipping cauliflower petticoats skywards
a shoes-off call to their pregnant dream
gaining weight against the light

Insect flights, crackle rumble,
the grass expectant, draws a breath
the wind harebrings a warning song
—wash wash, wash away,
—ain’t no play on a day like today

So she sings and so they say
throw your head into the wind
and then the rain
rushes to your skin and the thrill
of a summer bath shivers the back
all the way back...

Perpetual precipitation
a new perspective with which to play
take the canoe and a video too;
you might make the news

Oh. but Will the house last?
Ha. How time now laughs
A perpetual question
asked by all walks of life

All walking without shoes
and heads held skywards
