To sea to see
quick poem about a deep topic
“All aboard”, the Captain cries
music to my ears
Up the fog soaked ramp
the ocean mist already claims me
into the wooden creaks
of this ancient ship
We haul anchor
at this small hour
and leave the merry bearth
for epic adventures
We’re off to sea
to see not earth,
but ocean,
the 60%
blue-dot maker
riding the unknown fathoms
to fathom something new
under the vast bottomless sky
God speed and all
But for now
rum rations spent
I cast into my bunk
to sink
and slide
through wide-awake dreams
as the black backed gulls cry
a final, malicious goodbye
The ship sighs
and the Captain cries
