The Ocean

To read

An almighty ocean flows,
Where none on land knows,
The crashing waves hit some stone,
Whilst the species below swim, alone.

The sky above is baby blue,
With a huge star making everything look new,
The ocean’s colour outwitting the one of the sky,
And the sun reflecting stars in the ocean’s eye.

The whole world seems to revolve around the ocean,
With it swirling and twirling and the sun’s rays completing the potion.
The water laps against the retreating shore,
While the ocean cowers under the mountain’s core.

But suddenly from above a foot descends,
And the world realises the ocean’s presence is about to,
So storms and rain is sent to prevent the intruder’s coming,
But nothing can stop the ocean’s summoning.

Behold; the secret is broken!
The intruder is sure to tell others of the ocean.
The ocean must go,
Where none will know,
Somewhere it can confide,
Somewhere where no-one will find
The treasure that lies inside.
