What the Rich Don't Relish

To read

Some people who are thoughtless and have money to spend,
Or are simply just rich and to the poor they do not lend,
Are the ones who rake the world to get the finest food or meat,
But do not think about what the poor have had to eat.

Millions of animals are ruthlessly sought,
Then brutally killed and their fur is bought,
Their wool, coats, skins and pelts,
All cut off to be dyed and dealt,
Just for those people to wear above their belts.

Thousands of pounds spent, dollars and dinars,
While they ignore the poor-helping flyers,
And spend all their money on rich, expensive wine,
And celebrate and party and ignore and dine.

And I hope you note that there is more fruit in a bottle of shampoo,
Than what a poor man eats in a week or two,
And as the rich scour fields and trees,
To mould all their luxuries,
And find any cause for celebration,
A poor man relishes having even just a fruit that the rich use for decoration.
