Pause

All these contagious cages
keep me from flipping life’s pages.
My Anchors down to fully drag
Making time painfully lag.

How can I look forward?
If now can be summed in one poor word:
“Pause”
I can feel the word in my brain as it claws

I have lost the momentum.
And memories, oh how I repent them!
For they are the mistakes
That act on life like sand paper brakes

In this time of need, I painfully heave
For an epiphany I will conceive!
I have seen it many times before
When the weak rise from the floor

I have seen these moments give strength
It can drive a man to the farthest lengths
for breaking free from these very shackles,
Is the greatest feat a human can tackle.
