The Depression: Part 2

There was a rarity of familiarity,
As I roamed the waking dream.
I quickly sank into empty verity,
And endured this eternal theme.

As I walked across the moon lit field,
I grew weak, but knew to persevere.
I listened to the quiet whisper in my ear,
Seeing thoughts slowly reveal.

Fated figures darkened my plane,
Screaming words I’ve never spoke.
So I cover my ears, but can’t abstain,
As I suffocate in the heavy smoke.

I ran with all my might but made no gain.
In a terrible nightmare, I had finally broke.
So burned in agonizing pain.
Until the moment I woke.
