God and Me
I wrote this about going through some hard times that I had to not only find myself,
But find my faith in Him, once more.
Rain falls soft on the ground
Tears matching every drop
Even though I make no sound
They hit the hardwood floor with a “plop”
I wipe my eyes, knowing i did wrong
I shake my head, knowing I can’t change
God, its been so long
Are you now out of my range?
Will He forgive me for what I’ve done
Find forgivness please for me.
All i want to do is run.
Run from all that I can’t see.
Run from the anger, the hurt, the sins
From all the hateful words and pains
They just keep jabbing me like pins
They’re holding me down like chains
This angel can’t fly without her wings
Though she lost them a good time back
Even though she still sings
And trying to get back on track
Guidance comes soon enough
From the man upstairs
Even when times get tough
Even when your heart it tears
So I’ll close my eyes
And pray once more
That he’ll forgive my lies
And my unbelievable cries
And open that door to the future
Once more.
