God, God, God, can you hear me cry out to you, do my words touch your heart the way my trials have touched my mind, does my brokennes affect you the same way it affects my reflection? God, life and death stood face to face and for a moment I thought I was going to die but Your mercy said no. God, is there hope, is there enough light to fight away the darkess– the one that consumes us whole, God can you hear my prayers in this loud complacent world? God will it ever stop, this pain that asphyxiates, this pain that paralyses me and has become my existential crisis, will it end? Will the war in my head constantly defeating my purpose be hushed and this pain numbed? Will my joy stop being ephemeral and I being complaisant? God, can your affection overlook my unfaithfulness, my doubts and fears, can your perfect love cast out this condemnation I have placed upon my burdened soul?
