you were my favourite

When the ocean hugs the shore

It took a single tear to draw you near, I was the ocean and the waves that so many were afraid of called you in. You plunged into the beating heart, and in the depth of it all, you found serenity. You tore my walls down and turned me upside down. You taught me how to see things in a different light. You stared into my eyes and dug up pieces of my shattered soul, you dared to love me. Before it all, you were my best friend, then you picked me up and became my new favourite feeling. I played it all vivid and distant, but into the mist you dared to take a step. A breath away from my cold lips and a slow beating heart. Death was claiming me, but my soul being eternal searched for you to save me. Your kiss I have tasted a thousand lives ago, an eternal remedy for sorrow and heartache. Your touch i have felt many moons ago, right on this spot that was a tree, then a house and now my futile heart-which keeps getting broken over and over. I dare to die in your arms than live without your kiss. You have always been my favourite, as my heart beats for the last time and my eyes threaten to close, I draw in your smell with my last breath, that it takes me to a place where I get to live again– waiting for you.
