Hand in hand,
Is it possible?
Walking as Adam and Eve,
In our glorious nakedness
Of body, soul and spirit.
Stealing blithe glances
In each other’s direction,
Still not believing
As a gentle sea breeze
Tangles the hair,
Caresses our skin.
Not able to hide that peaceful smile
That says ‘I found you!’
We just keep on walking.
Step in step,
Placid waves
Lapping at our feet.
Turquoise sea
Reflecting tranquility
Of the heart,
And the slight tingle
Of hand in hand.

Where is this world?
Where it’s just you and me,
And the horizon.
And how do we get here again?
To just be
In each other’s presence,
To search one another’s gaze,
Plunging into a sea of flowers
In a loving embrace,
Crushing the delicate blooms
With unabashed laughter
In the innocence
Of Adam and Eve.

Thank you, Cory.

Your words make me feel at peace, and remind me of those glorious moments of young love; blinkered and unafraid in the world. 'Not able to hide that peaceful smile' is my favourite line.
