maybe missing a note,
or off course for awhile
it takes some learning
to be able to fall or trip
out of love or maybe in
the steps go both ways
the ladder adds height
maybe a better look
a longer gaze
maybe the crystal will tell
of some unconditional love
not learned yet, to be tripped over
as if place on the wrong step
played with the wrong instrument
or lied upon under the blanket
smothered with gravy.
