I was looking for the right path
but could not find it.
Often walked undecided
not knowing where
or what place I went.
I did not stop, even though I was tired.
Although many said, “What a fool!
If you do not know the destination, why walk?”
While dying of thirst and hunger
I kept walking.
Although nothing indicated the end of the road
I kept walking.
Faced with my aching feet
showing their many wounds
voices are calling for me to rest.
Because always on my mind I saw
a light at the end of the road
of storms and darkness.
Because I always thought that day
that you stand still and no one
life concludes.
Despite how hard it was,
I did not lose hope:
I kept walking.
Despite the fears and doubts,
I did not lose hope:
I kept walking.
And then, down the road, was your smile.
