The water is rising up,
closer and closer to the top.
I feel my lips grace the water,
not quite sure what I thought of her.
It is pouring into my lungs now,
I’m taking in more than I can allow.
Im fully emerged,
on’ self loathing, tonight I purge.
I let myself sink,
the regrets, I drink.
I always hear myself think,
I let myself shrink.
I reach the bottom, the ocean’s floor,
One day i’ll rise to shore.
I cannot go any farther.
I am not the perfect daughter.
