The Edge of Paradise
Our lives are lived along a line
One side of which is paradise
And the other an unknown place
Where all symmetry is lost
Myths and legends from a distant past
Show us in example the way to tread
To keep us on this path of life
Until our time to cross
But during life we come to learn
That paradise is just a word
That changes meaning by experience
But some may never reach this place
If to think too hard we should then stray
from that lesson we must learn
It may just bring us to the edge
And then at the wrong time we would cross
To be then lost in some dark place
Unknowing and unknown
In a void where there is no light
and without a life
So with hope in your heart
Stay close to the line
To be sure that Paradise
Will one day be thine

Note: this is saying that the place we have come to know as paradise is really a ‘hope’ that keeps us on our path in life, that to give up on this hope is to accept that there is nothing, our eyes close for the last time and we stop…so do not give up that hope !!
