The Journey (Part Two) The Gate

…And every country upon a sphere did spin,
And this vision to my mind did bring,
A series of dreams that link to show,
The grand sight of life’s wide plateau.

And above this scene of wide embrace,
There stands the greatest and the whitest gate.
From which emits the brightest light in space,
And a sense of falling that becomes my fate.

All who come, and it is all who do,
To this place, this place of the Gate,
To view, to stand in its compelling embrace,
To feel the fall that cannot abate.

The waning memory and transfer of grace,
The inescapable change within us all is faced,
No point to speak for there is no debate,
Beyond now normal speech and mortal reach.

The phase change begins inside the spin,
The Gate becomes our sight within,
It recedes into a point of light inside,
The monolith at the edge of time.

We arrive then upon this final shore,
Where no sea has ever traced a line upon the sand,
This is the final line the very last and the first to stand,
Where a new mind is born and directed to explore!

Note: A continuation of my allegorical poem “The Journey” A journey that maybe we will all undertake in some form or another as we leave our mortal life behind, and the start of something we as yet cannot understand…
