alas o the pity

(ken) to know

Stank with thee wild cold stew
to stachie on my young staig
with my stalwart bottle stown
stood i be with my wild stoyte

thae teethless gab that’s fa away
tis a long and wild swinge swoor
brackets  fa away broad to a tae
ae fond kiss a tattle a tarry breeks

the wild winds blaw from hills
looks afar upon thy yellow fields
eerie spirit dreaded thee all drift
to bagpipes wee drone i thee tune
faem of the sea thy fien ma care
o alas the pity ree we all declare

To all the Scots out there
who can understand a bit
of the old language?
