An Autumn Requiem

An Autumn Requiem

Autumn has faded into wintertide
Threw its garments upon the ground
Begging for the mercy of the sun
And its gallantry that goes away too soon

The final curtain of life descends
Upon the frozen tundra, home of
Fruitful gardens that once sang to the skies
In praise of life and its faithful giving

But the seasons of resurrection
Waits for us around the bend
As the earth bows to the sun
We sing to her the song of life again
