Entrance of the Bewildered

An ancient tomb
Cut out of rock in Golgotha,
Home of the dead for eternal resting,
Sealed off from the eyes of the sun
With a weighted boulder for a fastening,
Placed by men with strapping hands
Where the rebel Jesus the Nazarene lay,

Lo behold, the boulder is lifted away
As the Easter sun doth shine
Through the entrance of the bewildered
Upon the hallowed space inside,
Gone away with the April wind
To his home in heaven,
The ascension of our savior.
